Mr. Trammell
Student Support and Intervention Specialist/Athletic Director
Hi, my name is Pete Trammell, and I will be serving as Student Support and Intervention Specialist/Athletic Director at Huron Academy. I’ve been working in education for 10 years. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Grand Valley State University, and I’m currently studying for my Master’s in Sports Administration from Concordia-Chicago University.
Prior to coming to Huron Academy, I started in schools as an academic intervention specialist. I moved on and served as an intervention coordinator, where I developed and facilitated multiple small groups to meet the specific needs of an at-risk student body. I also have classroom instruction experience, where I taught standardized test prep, and was heavily involved in administration of those tests. After a brief stint in corporate public relations, I served a year as a restorative justice facilitator and most recently as school climate and culture coordinator. Duties included: conflict resolution, developing and implementing restorative strategies, school discipline, school safety, and overall management of the climate of the school building. I have served as a varsity boys basketball coach for 5 years, and have served as athletic director for 1 year.
In my role here at Huron Academy, I will focus on developing small groups, as well as conducting some 1 on 1 sessions with students in need. I have a vision and a plan to enhance our athletic program as a tool for learning and become a viable part of our school district.
Go Huskies!
