Huron Academy Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break and Easter Holiday! We are very excited to see all of our students in class once more.
This month, our spring testing begins, particularly the M-STEP & NWEA standardized tests. As always, look out for correspondence from your child’s teacher for specific testing dates, and ensure that they get plenty of rest the night before, with a great breakfast to start that day. While these testing cycles are time-consuming, they give us important data to help ensure appropriate and customized instruction for our kids; plus, they help to procure funding from several state sources.

Speaking of funding, as many of you know, we are beginning to explore the possibility of expanding our Utica campus to a facility large enough to host all of our classrooms under one roof. We do not yet know specific details or have a timeline, but as we work towards our goal, we will begin putting together a variety of fundraisers, such as golf outings or game nights. Stay tuned for details.

Campus expansion aside, we are also actively exploring a wide variety of new classes, curriculum, and activities for the following school year and beyond. We are actively planning for the implementation of new classes, initiatives, and programs for next year and beyond, such as a house system and a student created media hub (think podcasts, blogs, etc).

As these begin to roll out in the coming months, we ask for support however we can get it – from brainstorming to financial donations to volunteer hours, everything helps, and we are eternally grateful for the support from our families. It is your support that helps keep our school community strong.
